Dr Stempien is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. He works as an emergency physician in Saskatoon as well as a transport physician for STARS and the Air Ambulance service. He is the research director for the provincial emergency department. His research interests focus on quality improvement and patient satisfaction, including the use of therapy dogs in the Emergency room to improve the patient experience.
