Chris Picard

Christopher Picard works as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Trauma and Forensic services at Island Health. His works helps to implement trauma best-practices with the trauma in-patient, emergency, pediatrics and critical care teams across Vancouver Island. Chris completed his undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of British Columbia, Master of Nursing at the University of Alberta, and is completing a Ph.D. in Nursing as a Killam Scholar at the University of Alberta. He is the past-president of the National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA) and Editor-in-chief of the Canadian Journal of Emergency Nursing (CJEN). His research focuses on using artificial intelligence and mixed methods to analyze unstructured clinical data (such as triage narratives) for epidemiologic research on trauma, emergency, and critical care patients.
