Thank you to our Patient Engagement Committee
We gratefully acknowledge the contributions of all current and past members of CEDRN’s Patient Engagement Committee. Your lived experiences, insights, and commitment to meaningful collaboration have helped shape the direction of our research in powerful and lasting ways.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have chosen not to share their bios publicly. Your voices and perspectives remain deeply valued, and your impact is felt throughout our work.
Thank you for walking alongside us in building research that is more compassionate, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of patients and communities.
Networks
CEDRN works closely with various emergency medicine research networks to advance multi-centre studies across Canada. Our partners include:
Canadian Critical Care Trials Group (CCCTG)

The CCCTG and CEDRN collaborate to strengthen Canada’s research ecosystem. While CEDRN leverages real-world data from emergency departments and hospitals to enhance acute care research, CCCTG provides expertise in critical care. Both networks work together to conduct well-powered studies, improve equitable healthcare access, and streamline research efforts across the care continuum. Through shared leadership and coordinated initiatives, CCCTG and CEDRN aim to maximize impact, avoid duplication, and improve patient outcomes from emergency care to intensive care.
Learn more about the CCCTG.
Emergency Care British Columbia (ECBC)

ECBC collaborates with CEDRN to improve emergency care coordination, optimize data use, and enhance health outcomes in BC. This partnership will enable use of CEDRN data to develop a learning health system’s approach to data use and healthcare innovation in BC. This partnership will strengthen our responses to the health crises like the toxic drug crisis, strengthen pandemic preparedness, and help define best practices for emergency medicine through research implementation.

Network of Canadian Emergency Researchers (NCER)

NCER is a national peer support network with a mission to lead the advancement of care for emergency patients through the conduct of practice-changing high quality world class multicenter research. We build capacity through peer review, endorsement, mentorship, stewardship and building research networks like CEDRN to implement the multicenter trials. NCER reviews any protocol that CEDRN submits to them for peer review and endorsement. NCER recommends CEDRN to all investigators as an implementation platform for multicenter trials.

Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN)

As a clinical trials network funded by NINDS and NHLBI, SIREN focuses on improving outcomes for patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and hematologic emergencies. By sharing expertise, coordinating complementary research efforts, and potentially collaborating on joint studies, SIREN and CEDRN will enhance evidence-based emergency care. This partnership aligns with both networks’ commitment to international collaboration, ensuring a rapid and effective response to emerging public health threats.

Collaborating to build a Canada-wide research ethics review system that benefits all people in Canada

CEDRN supports CanReview, a pan-Canadian initiative building a single research ethics review system for multi-site clinical trials. By streamlining ethics reviews while upholding the highest standards, this reduces duplication, increases efficiency, and expands access to trials in underserved communities—strengthening Canada’s competitiveness and ensuring more equitable participation in clinical research.
